Saidi Charles Byaombe 12th grade - Questioning and Problem Posing:

Here is what Trevor Smith had to say about Charles. "Charles has a very curious mind and asks really great questions when we are covering tough material in trigonometry. His questions are relevant, thought provoking, and show just how curious of a mind he has. His questions and his reactions to my explanations make me feel so good as a teacher and indirectly help all other students in the class gain deeper knowledge of otherwise tough to grasp material and ideas.

Charles quite often shows many habits of success in class so it was hard to narrow it down to just one to nominate him for. He Persists through tough problems that he may not understand at first. He keeps his thinking flexible to learn from mistakes and prepare to not repeat them. He responds with wonderment and awe when I find a new way to explain a concept and it clicks for him. He will even say, "oh man that's really kool, I see it now!".

Charles is one of those students teachers hope they have in a class because his work ethic and attitude make the class fun, engaging, and successful. I feel like my job during his class is that much easier because he is such a good example and guide for the rest of the class."

David Asemota 11th grade - Thinking and Communicating with Clarity and Precision:

Here is what Cory Haley had to say about David. "I have gotten to see David mature and push himself academically and athletically over these two years. I got to see David try a challenging class he didn't think he could do. He searched out resources to help him understand the class well. I have seen multiple teachers and coaches work with him because he's very responsible and willing to put in the work. He always seems to know when it's the right time to email or make an appointment with teachers. He doesn't wait until it's too late. He keeps on top of his responsibilities very well. I'm proud of the young man he's becoming."

Here is what Katherine Walton had to say about Misael. "He is a pleasure to work with each day. He has taken AP classes and is part of the automotive program in area 31. He will be working in the automotive industry and continuing his training with his current employer. He excels in all of the programs he has been a part of at Ben Davis High School."
