October Students of the Month Announced
Jayla Bailey 12th grade - Persisting
Here is what Tom Hayes said about Jayla. "Jayla never gives up and loves challenges. She produces all our sports programs and is sports editor for both yearbook and newspaper. She is persistent and polite in getting what she needs to accomplish her tasks."
Ximena Vargas 12th grade - Thinking and Communicating with Clarity and Precision
Here is what Katrina Kelly said about Ximena. " With our overwhelming increase in non-English learners, Ximena stepped up and comes to my 9th period to tutor a level one student when no other solutions could be found. This student achieved their first 'A' with Ximena tutoring and translating the lesson. She is a true Giant!"
Biana Azy 11th grade - Remaining Open to Continuous Learning
Here is what Maggie Fritz said about Biana. "Biana interacted with one of our THRIVE students with such grace and kindness. She walked with the student asking her questions and engaging with her. She demonstrated kindness and inclusivity. Although our student's interaction with Biana was brief, Biana made a positive impact and showed how far just simple kindness to another human can go. As a THRIVE teacher, these are the positive interactions that I want my students to experience with their general education peers."
