September Students of the Month

Aurora Ornelas 10th grade - Persisting:

This is what Miranda Minnick had to say about Aurora. " Aurora has gone above and beyond in English 10 as a learner and as a peer. She is always willing to work with new people with an air of kindness and respect. She regularly is seen offering to help others with their classwork, sharing with her classmates, and going out of her way to make her peers feel seen and respected. During class discussions, even though it was a challenge to make her voice heard initially, she took clear notes, wrote down her thoughts, and, on day two, was able to open up and shift the perspective of our conversation! Her kindness, work ethic, and consistent presence in English 10 is one to be admired. Keep up the fantastic work, Aurora!"

Dylan Houston 11th grade - Thinking and Communicating with Clarity and Precision:

Here is what Cindy Spinks said about Dylan. "Dylan was an invaluable student helper. His communication skills are amazing, as he connected effortlessly with both students and adults, creating a positive experience for everyone we served at Partnership day. Dylan always goes above and beyond to help Area 31 and his peers. He demonstrates kindness and respect for his teachers and peers. He's always willing to help people out at a moment's notice. His personality and positivity is infectious.

In addition to his help on Partnership Day, Dylan consistently demonstrates his dedication. Whenever he’s in the Career Center for his Welding class, he takes the initiative to check in with the office during his breaks, always offering to help with anything that needs attention. Dylan is an exceptional worker, and we are truly grateful to have him as a reliable and proactive student assistant."

Brandy Bito Roa 12th grade - Persisting:

Here is what Rachel Jones had to say about Brandy. "Brandy is an excellent student and an incredibly hard worker. She embraces creativity and successfully completes all academic tasks. As an English Learner, I know Brandy was nervous about a class presentation. However, Brandy embraced the challenge of creating the presentation and speaking in front of the entire class in English. In addition, Brandy utilizes her time and resources wisely. She is a perfect example for all students in our building of how to persevere when challenged."
