Young Artists Shine at MSD Wayne's Annual Superintendent's Art Competition
Creativity took center stage as young artists across M.S.D. of Wayne Township gathered for the district's annual Superintendent's Art Competition. The event, which has become a cherished tradition since its inception in 2012, celebrated the remarkable artistic talents present in every school throughout the district.
Two exceptional pieces stood out among the impressive collection, earning their creators the coveted elementary and secondary division grand prizes. Violeta Sandoval from Bridgeport Elementary captivated judges with her artwork to win the elementary prize, while Sienna Phelps from Chapel Hill 7th & 8th Grade Center impressed with her piece to claim the secondary prize.
Dr. Butts purchased both pieces, which will be added to the prestigious Superintendent's Art Gallery at the Education Center, where they will be displayed alongside past winners.
Celebrating Artists from Every School
The competition featured one selected piece of artwork representing each school in the district. Art teachers faced the challenging task of choosing a single work to represent their school.
