Wayne Township Honors Five Distinguished Individuals at Memorial Wall Ceremony
M.S.D. of Wayne Township celebrated the exceptional contributions of five distinguished individuals during a special induction ceremony at the Wayne Township Memorial Wall on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
The ceremony began with a breakfast reception, followed by a welcome address from School Board President Brandon Bowman. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Butts presented each family with a framed keepsake that highlighted their loved ones impact. Family members and colleagues shared heartfelt remarks before the plaques were unveiled on the Memorial Wall.
The M.S.D. of Wayne Township Memorial Wall honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the school district. This year's inductees join a distinguished group of leaders whose legacies continue to inspire current and future generations.
Our 2025 Honorees include:
Priscilla E. Dillow (1944-2024)
A Ben Davis High School graduate from the class of 1961, Priscilla Dillow dedicated 34 years as a Ben Davis teacher, coach, assistant athletic director, assistant principal, and athletic director until 2002. She was a trailblazer for girls and women in sports and received numerous recognitions, including induction into the Ben Davis High School Wall of Fame (2002), National Athletic Director Hall of Fame (2011), Indiana Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame (1996), and the ASA Softball Players Hall of Fame.
Patricia M. Eddleman (1937-2023)
Patricia Eddleman served the Wayne Township Education Foundation for 18 years. Her career included roles as a Title One Reading Aide at Garden City in the early 1980s and as a HOSTS mentor at Chapel Elementary from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. She also served as Wayne Township 4-K Program Director for 20 years. Her exceptional service earned her the Extra Mile Award, Top 30 honoree recognition, and the Bart York Excellence in Leadership Award.
Alan J. Goddard (1948-2014)
Alan Goddard taught Social Studies and World History for 34 years at Fulton Junior High and Ben Davis Ninth Grade Center. He also coached baseball, football, and wrestling. His contributions to athletics earned him induction into the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Indiana State Wrestling Association's John Hurrle Award in 2001. He was a three-time recipient of Who's Who Among American Teachers and co-founder of the Indy West Wrestling Club.
Mattie "M.G." Clara Grace Raby (1934-2024)
Mattie Raby served MSD Wayne as Desegregation Coordinator and later as Human Relations Coordinator until her retirement in 1998. She was a champion for equality, love, and acceptance. Her legacy continues through the M.G. Raby Award, which honors those who demonstrate and promote equality and work to eliminate racism, stereotyping, and discrimination.
Jack "Doc" Holmes Voris (1943-2023)
Jack "Doc" Voris dedicated an impressive 52 years teaching in MSD Wayne. He taught Advanced Biology at Ben Davis High School for 36 years and was the first Zoology teacher at Ben Davis High School. Even after retirement, he continued to volunteer in many roles with the Athletic Department. Throughout his career, he was selected by many students for Seniors' Choice and Top 30 honors.
